Ricky Malik, Esq.

Ricky Malik has stood out as a champion in the field of Immigration Law from his days at the University ofMaryland Immigration Clinic where he earned the prestigious Public Service Award. In addition, Mr. Malik was awarded a Certificate of Recognition from the United States Board of Immigration Appeals for his dedicated efforts.

Mr. Malik has always been a tireless advocate for the rights of immigrants in the United States, and has aggressively and relentlessly advocated on behalf of countless businesses and individuals. Mr. Malik has successfully argued in the defense of his clients at every level of jurisdiction: immigration court, state court, and in federal district and circuit courts. Mr. Malik has a passion for immigration law and has built a thriving practice by taking difficult, hard-to-win cases and bringing them to a victorious conclusion. Mr. Malik has triumphed in cases which range from Provisional Waivers, Special Immigrant Juvenile cases, Permanent Labor Certifications, Employment Based cases, Investor Visas, Non Immigrant Visas (H,E,B,F,L/ TN), Family Immigration, Preference Petitions, Consulate Processing, Visa Extensions, Naturalizations, Deportation Defense, NACARA, TPS, Asylum, Habeas Corpus, Corum Nobis and Federal Appellate Litigation, to name but a few.

Mr. Malik has argued cases before Immigration Courts nationwide, Criminal Courts in Virginia and Maryland as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, Fourth and Sixth Circuit. Most recently before the Fourth Circuit resulting in a published opinion, Lizama v Holder, 09-2027 (4th Cir. 2011).

Mr. Malik is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and served in a leadership role as Co-Chair of the AILA-DC Arlington Immigration Court Liaison Committee. Mr. Malik was featured in the Washington Post on September 26, 2011 and June 10, 2012 for his role as an impassioned advoacate for his clients and appeared live on national TV on MSNBC's "Weekends with Alex Witt" and the "Melissa Harris-Perry" show. Ricky Malik practices U.S. Immigration Law throughout the United States and has clients the world over.

Mr. Malik was born in London, England into a Hindu Indian family, and like those he represents, underwent the challenges of the U.S. Immigration system first hand. It is his past experiences that paved the way for his passion in his field, with but one goal, to keep families together.

Ricky Malik earned his bacherlor's degree with a double major in Psychology and History from the University of North Carolina in 1998 and went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the Univerisity of Maryland School of Law in 2002 and is admitted to practice before the Maryland and DC Bars.

Aida Farahani, Esq.

Aida Farahani joined the Law Offices of Ricky Malik, P.C., in March 2015 as an associate attorney. Ms. Farahani dilligently represents clients before the Immigration and State Courts in a variety of immigration matters: Special Juvenile Immigrant Status, Cancellation of Removal, Asylum, and employment-based petitions. Prior to joining Law Offices of Ricky Malik, PC, Aida worked at a private firm assisting in civil and immigration matters. Throughout law school, Aida interned at private firms as well Arlington County Circuit Court and Executive Office of Immigration Review (DOJ) gaining experience in variety fields of law including but not limited to immigration cases.

Being an immigrant herself, Aida has long held interest in immigration law. She is very empathic to her clients and always aims to achieve the best possible outcome for them. Aida was born in Tehran, Iran and is fluent in English and Farsi/Persian. She received her bachelor's degree from George Mason University in 2009 and her Juris Doctorate from George Mason University School of Law in 2013. During law school, she served as an associate editor for National Security Law Journal and also as an event coordinator for Immigration Law Society. She was admitted to Virginia State Bar in October 2013.

Carolina Pollock, Esq.

Carolina Ramallo Pollock joined the Law Offices of Ricky Malik, P.C., in November 2015. Ms. Pollock represents clients in Immigration Court in a variety of immigration matters. In addition, Ms. Pollock also helps clients apply affirmatively for immigration benefits under the Immigration and Nationality Act, such as, asylum, prosecutorial discretion, U-Visas, provisional waivers and Special Immigrant Juveniles visas, to name a few.

Ms. Pollock was born in Bolivia and has personally navigated through the Immigration system. For that reason, she fiercely advocates for her clients and ensures they receive the best representation possible. During law school, Ms. Pollock worked in the Human Rights and Immigration clinic for three semesters and received the Dean's Public Service Award for her outstanding work. Ms. Pollock served as the Vice President of the Latino Law Students Association at her law school and was named the Membership Chair for the Hispanic Bar Association of D.C. Ms. Pollock was a recipient of the Equal Justice of America Fellowship and completed two consecutive legal internships at Ayuda, a Non-Profit Immigration Organization.

Ms. Pollock earned her B.S. Degree from George Mason University in 2010. She later graduated cum laude from the University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clarke School of Law in 2014 and was admitted to the D.C. Bar in 2015.
